This week Britain became the latest nation to make the switch to a currency printed on plastic instead of paper. It follows a growing list of nations including Canada, which started introducing the polymer bills in 2011, The New York Times reported. Proponents of the switch point out that plastic isn’t as delicate as paper cash, and is harder to counterfeit. Critics say the material is slippery and could fall out of your hands more easily.
